Out and About - Schooled Book Party
Earlier this week I went to a book party for my friend Anisha Lakhani's debut novel, Schooled:
The party was held at my local (and my favorite) book shop, The Corner Bookstore.
It was a jam packed event. Every single seat was taken, there were people standing in the aisles/sitting on the floor, and they had to shut the door during Anisha's reading to keep more people from piling in.
My view during the reading -- that's Anisha standing waaaay up front:
Schooled is fiction, but it's loosely based on the time Anisha spent time teaching at Dalton. I've just started reading the book, and so far it's a very enjoyable take on the curious world of Upper East Side private schools.
Anisha was mobbed during the signing:
Here's I am with the beautiful author:
I got my signed copy of the book, but someone else got a little surprise...
Anisha dedicated the book to her beloved Shitzu, Harold Moscowitz. She added a special someone's name to the dedication page:
Monty was very excited to have a book personally signed to him (...although now we may have to hire one of those controversial tutors from Schooled to help him learn to read).
Schooled, available through Amazon.
