Remote Light Switch by Tobias Wong
Friends gave us Tobias Wong's 'Remote Light Switch' as a housewarming gift a few years back.
It's an old school, flip style light switch enclosed in a Lucite box:
With its little remote component, it wirelessly operates anything you'd like up to 100 feet away -- kind of like a sleek version of The Clapper:
I love any way I can incorporate art and design into my day-to-day life, and have been happily using this modern conceptual art piece with our traditional Christmas tree lights.
Instead of fumbling with plugs and extension cords, I plugged our Christmas trees lights into the remote component of Wong's switch:
The Lucite box sits atop our dining room table:
And when we're feeling festive we flip the switch, and ta-da -- lovely lights!:
